A Fan-fraking-tastic Show

The fourth and final season of one of my favorite TV series, Battlestar Galactica premieres tonight on Sc-Fi Channel. They seem to be really promoting this show like never before. Don't get me wrong the show deserves as big an audience as possible. It's got sophisticated writing, top notch acting, and the finest special effects ever seen created for a TV show. It's just going to be hard for new viewers to ingratiate themselves into the increasingly complex storyline and be able to enjoy the show on the same level as long time fans. But hey I became addicted to the show in the middle of season two, so I'm clearly just talking out of my ass here.

Watch this promo which summarizes three seasons of TV episodes and the miniseries in just over eight minutes. It's surprisingly comprehensive. I never even noticed the non-rectangular paper before. That should get everyone caught up.

On a related note, Toy News International has pictures of an upcoming wave of action figures based on Battlestar Galactica: Razor. I don't know if it's a good idea to make figures of Kendra and "young" Bill Adama this early into the line. This is only the third assortment and there are still a number of more important characters to be made, but the Guardian Cylon is ridiculously awesome and will probably sell ten times better than any human character.
